Simon Laarbik Daboib laid to rest at Tepa

The Immediate past Director of the Ahafo Ano North Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr. Simon Laarbik Daboib has been laid to rest at the Tepa Public Cemetery on Saturday. Mr. Simon Laarbik Daboib died in a head-on collision on the highway from Tepa to Kumasi on July 22, 2022 at the age of 50.

Prior to his burial, family members together with colleagues, friends and sympathisers gathered at the forecourt of the Tepa Community Centre before he was moved to the cemetery for interment. From far and near mourners gathered to bid farewell to the man.

A sermon was also given at the funeral ceremony by a Pastor of the Tepa district Church of Pentecost, Elder Godwin Oscar.

The NCCE delegation led by the Commission Secretary, Mr. Kojo Tito Voegborlo has shared emotional and powerful tributes, describing him as a hardworking and dedicated staff.

Mr. Kojo Tito Voegborlo speaking at the funeral ceremony said that the late Laarbik was employed by the NCCE in 1998 and posted to the Salaga District Office. He added that he was later posted to the Jaman South District Office at Drobo. He mentioned that while at Drobo he pursued and earned his first degree from the University of Education, Winneba.

“In 2014 he was promoted as the District Director for the Ahafo North District Office of the NCCE, Tepa. He held that post until his demise”, he stated.

Fifty-eight (58) staff of the NCCE including Mr. Emmanuel K. Anderson, 1st Trustee of the NCCE Divisional Union. Mr. Wilberforce Zangina, the North East Regional Director of the NCCE, Ashanti Regional Office, Suame, Asokwa, Old Tafo, Ahafo Ano North, Ahafo Ano South East, Ahafo Ano South West, Kwabre East, Adansi Akrofuom, Adansi South, Atwima Nwabiagya, Atwima Nwabiagya North, Obuasi, Obuasi East, Amansie Central, Asante Akyem Central, Juaben, Adansi North, Afigya Kwabre North, Amansie Central, Sekyere East, Ejisu, Offinso North, Offinso South and Ejura Selkyekumasi, the Bechem offices of the Commission and the Ahafo Regional team was led by Ms. Margaret Konama, Regional Directors were also present at the funeral.
