Citizenship week celebration program held at Tomome D/A JHS

Todome D/A Junior High School marked this year’s Citizenship Week celebration with an engaging and educational program centered on the theme, “Upholding Our Constitution in the Digital Age: Our Collective Responsibility.” The event brought together students and teachers to reflect on the importance of upholding constitutional values in an increasingly digital world.

The program was graced by two distinguished resource persons, Mr. Raymond Akposoe and Mr. Gospel Amedzorku, who delivered insightful presentations on the relevance of the 1992 Constitution in guiding responsible behavior, both offline and online. They emphasized the need for students to be law-abiding citizens, particularly in their use of social media and digital platforms, highlighting issues such as misinformation, cyberbullying, and respect for individual rights.

Mr. Ernest Honu, the head of the school, welcomed participants and expressed his appreciation to the resource persons for their valuable contributions. He encouraged students to take the lessons seriously and apply them in their daily lives to promote peace, discipline, and national development.

Students actively participated in the session by asking questions and sharing their views, making the program interactive and impactful. The celebration successfully deepened students’ understanding of their civic responsibilities and inspired them to become responsible digital citizens committed to upholding Ghana’s constitutional values.
