The follow-up engagements on the social audit conducted during the last quarter have yielded significant results, leading to notable improvements in infrastructure and public service delivery in the Tumu Municipality.
One of the key achievements is the renovation of sanitary facilities at the Tumu Market, addressing long-standing sanitation concerns and providing traders and patrons with a cleaner and healthier environment.
Another major milestone is the opening up of roads within Tumu Township. The road works have benefited all five Electoral Areas: Kusijan, Stadium Residential, Zongo Extension, Nanyua, and Nyeminjan. Although the roads are yet to be asphalted, they have significantly enhanced the appearance of the town and improved the movement of residents and vehicles.
Despite these successes, several development challenges remain and require sustained follow-up. These include the extension of the Tumu water supply system, the repair of existing boreholes and drilling of new ones, the extension of electricity to newly developed residential areas, and the provision of adequate sanitary facilities for Kanton Senior High School and Tumu Senior High Technical School.
Stakeholders remain committed to engaging the appropriate authorities to ensure these outstanding issues are addressed to improve the quality of life for residents in the municipality.
