NCCE Ledzokuku Municipal Office Intensifies Tax Compliance Education Through Dusk Broadcast

The Ledzokuku Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) organized a dusk broadcast sensitization program on tax compliance across various communities within the municipality. The initiative formed part of the Commission's efforts to educate citizens on the importance of paying taxes as a civic responsibility and to support the government's revenue mobilization efforts.

The exercise was led by the following officers, who were deployed to different locations within the municipality:

1. Mr. Joshua Akinwale – Civic Education Officer (CEO)

2. Madam Gifty Amedzro – Senior Civic Education Officer (SCEO)

3. Madam Genevieve Baku – Principal Civic Education Officer (PCEO)

4. Madam Ashinyoh Olivia – National Service Personnel (NSP)

Using public address systems, the officers engaged residents during the evening hours, when many community members were available to listen. They educated the public on the importance of tax compliance, explaining that taxes are a major source of government revenue used to finance essential public services such as education, healthcare, road construction, security, and other developmental projects.

The officers also encouraged citizens to fulfil their tax obligations promptly and to transact only through legitimate channels provided by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). Participants were reminded that voluntary tax compliance contributes significantly to national development and helps government provide improved services for all citizens.

The sensitization program reached a broad cross-section of the public, including traders, commuters, transport operators, and household members. Community members were receptive to the messages delivered and demonstrated considerable interest by listening attentively and engaging the officers. The positive response underscored the importance of continuous grassroots education on tax compliance and civic responsibility.

The dusk broadcast successfully achieved its objective of increasing public awareness on tax compliance within the Ledzokuku Municipality. The Ledzokuku Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education remains committed to promoting responsible citizenship through sustained public education and will continue to support the government's revenue mobilization agenda through regular civic engagement program.
