The Nandom Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has cautioned students of St. Andrew's Junior High School to stay away from all forms of drug and substance abuse.
The Commission gave the advice during a civic education engagement with the students aimed at promoting discipline and responsible citizenship among the youth.
Speaking at the programme, officials of the NCCE noted that drug abuse among students remains a major threat to academic performance, health, and the future of young people.
They explained that indulging in the abuse of marijuana, tramadol, alcohol, and other harmful substances could lead to school dropout, mental health challenges, and could land an individual on the wrong side of the law.
The students were therefore urged to focus on their studies, respect school rules, and associate with peers who have positive influence.
