OKERE NCCE OFFICE SENSITIZES CITIZENS ON VOTER EDUCATION

The Okere District Office of the Commission has intensified its campaign on Child Protection issues, Voter Education, Good sanitation practices and Tax Compliance. The office endeavoured to increase taxpayers’ tax literacy and their understanding of tax matters.

Anita Opoku-Appiah (CEO), Mawunya Attah (CEO) and Millicent Otubea (CFO) engaged traders and buyers in the Asenema market in the district.

Staff briefly outlined the features of tax education as a means of building a tax culture, increasing voluntary compliance and exercising our duties as citizens to enable the government to generate enough revenue to develop infrastructure such as roads, schools, and hospitals, amongst others.

Again, in light of the continuing efforts of the office to influence the perception of the Ghanaian voter, staff sensitized the youth and market women on the upcoming voter registration, parliamentary and presidential elections, as well as on Peaceful coexistence, Non-Violence and Political and Religious Tolerance.
