NCCE Kwaebibirem Mentors Youth at Future Starts Now Summit 2026

The Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Kwaebibirem, Mrs. Gertrude A. Defoe, has encouraged young people to become agents of positive change and purposeful development during the Future Starts Now Summit 2026 held in Kade.

The summit, organised by Find Your Feet Initiatives, a volunteer group, took place on Saturday, 23rd May 2026, at The Church of Pentecost M.K. Yeboah Auditorium. The programme aimed at empowering young people to discover their potential and take intentional steps towards a meaningful and impactful future.

Participating in an open discussion and mentorship session, Mrs. Defoe urged the youth to cultivate a strong sense of purpose and contribute positively to their communities and the nation. She encouraged them to strive for excellence and make meaningful contributions to society rather than merely existing without impact.

She further advised participants to be discerning in their choice of friends, noting that peer influence can significantly shape one's future. Mrs. Defoe also cautioned young people against behaviours and relationships that could derail their personal growth and aspirations.

Touching on issues of abuse and bullying, she encouraged participants to seek support from parents, teachers, guardians, and institutions such as CHRAJ whenever they encounter challenges, emphasising that seeking help is an important step toward personal safety and wellbeing.

The engagement formed part of NCCE’s broader commitment to promoting responsible citizenship, leadership, and positive values among the youth.
