As part of the effort to promote civic education and professionalism among Public Sector workers, the National Commission for Civic Education Assin Foso office took the opportunity during the Pubic Service Workers Union local meeting at the Municipal Health Directorate conference hall to educate members on the Code of Conduct for public sector workers. The meeting, which was held at Assin Foso, was chaired by the branch chairman, Brother Michael Sagoe. He brought together members of institutions including EPA, NCCE, NIA, YEA, TVET, BAC and CNC. The branch secretary, Sister Adabiyatu Balali Iddrisu, and NCCE staff led sensitization on the Code of Conduct. She mentioned that there is a need for members to exhibit a high level of professionalism, such as integrity, punctuality, political neutrality, and accountability in the discharge of their duties. She emphasized that as public servants, they are servants of the people. Therefore, they should avoid conflict of interest, bribery and corruption, and the misuse of state resources. Earlier, the Industrial Relations Officer of PSWU, Brother Ebenezer Acheampong, explained that Tier 1 is managed by SSNIT and Tier 2 is a compulsory occupational pension, while Tier 3 is voluntary and serves as a top-up to retirement. The branch chairman, Brother Michael Sagoe, urged members to put into practice what they have learned.
