Ga Central NCCE Joins Traders to Observe National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving

The Ga Central Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) joined traders at the Anyaa Market to commemorate Ghana’s National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.

The programme was held under the national theme, “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want,” and sought to encourage citizens to offer prayers of thanksgiving for the nation while reaffirming their commitment to the values needed for national development.

The Municipal Director of NCCE, Miss Mary Dagbah, led participants in prayers for the peace, unity, and prosperity of Ghana. The prayer session was complemented by moments of worship and praise led by Miss Anita Appiah.

During the engagement, Miss Dagbah offered prayers for the President, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, traditional leaders, public officials, and all duty bearers, asking for wisdom, integrity, and strength in the discharge of their responsibilities.

She encouraged the traders, particularly women, to make prayer for the nation a regular practice, noting that women and children are often the most vulnerable during times of national crisis. Quoting Jeremiah 29:7, she urged participants to seek the peace and prosperity of the nation, emphasizing that the well-being of every citizen is closely tied to the peace and progress of the country.

Miss Dagbah further noted that building the Ghana citizens aspire to requires a collective commitment to positive values, integrity, patriotism, and responsible citizenship. She stressed that national development is a shared responsibility and called on all Ghanaians to contribute to building a peaceful, united, and prosperous nation.

The observance forms part of NCCE’s continuous efforts to promote national unity, civic responsibility, and the values necessary for sustainable development.
