DANNAKS SHS Civic Education Club Visits Parliament House

Members of the Civic Education Club of DANNAKS Senior High School, Amasaman, have embarked on an educational visit to the Parliament House of Ghana. Facilitated by the Ga West Municipal Office of the NCCE, the visit is part of the Commission's holistic strategy to promote civic awareness and democratic participation among young Ghanaians.

The students were given the rare opportunity to observe parliamentary proceedings and gain practical insight into the workings of Ghana’s legislature.

Their experience was enriched by an interactive session with the Member of Parliament for Amasaman Constituency, Hon. Sedem Afenyo, who encouraged them to take their studies seriously, believe in themselves, and work diligently toward their aspirations. He admonished them, noting that regardless of their background, they could rise to become Members of Parliament and responsible citizens contributing positively to national development.

The students were also engaged by the Minority Leader, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who underscored the importance of tolerance and respect in politics. He advised that democracy thrives when citizens “agree to disagree,” stressing that political differences should never breed hostility or division. He further urged the students to excel academically and prepare to assume leadership roles in their communities.
