CEC MEMBERS OF THE MANSO NKWANTA MODEL JHS VISIT THE GNFS

The Amansie West District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has led the Civic Education Cub (CEC) members of the Manso Nkwanta Model Junior High School (JHS) to Nkwata Ghana National Fire Service (GFNS). The Civic Education Officer, Mr. Stephen Agyei who led the pupils said that the educational tour aimed at impacting the pupils with knowledge about the operations of the GFNS.

The Fire Service Officer, Mr. Mr. Philip Agyemang took the students through the operation of the Fire Service which included Safety pre-caution in firefighting, functions of various firefighting equipment and assessment of the nature of fire among others. He explained that in dousing a fire, the firemen ascertain the source of the fire which may include electrical, petroleum, explosives and other combustible materials.

Mr. Agyemang further highlighted that the operation of the Ghana National Fire Service is not limited to firefighting but also engages in activities such as providing education for various institutions and the general public on fire prevention and control, engaging in rescue missions during disasters such as earthquakes, floods, lorry accidents among others.

Mr. Agyei expressed his gratitude to the Nkwanta Ghana National Fire Service directorate especially for the learning opportunity given to the students. He also encouraged the students to take their studies seriously in order to get the minimum qualifications to enable them to join the Ghana National Fire Service or any other reputable institution in the country.
