The festival was organized under the auspices of the Centre for National Culture (CNC) in collaboration with the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE).
STUDRAFEST is an annual cultural festival aimed at reviving and promoting Ghanaian traditional cultural arts through drama among senior high school students.
This year’s regional contest brought together eight senior high schools, namely Adiembra Senior High School, Archbishop Porter Girls’ Senior High School, Diabene Senior High School, Fijai Senior High School, Methodist Senior High School, Bompeh Senior High School, St. John’s Senior High School and Ahantaman Girls’ Senior High School.
Adjudicators drawn from both the local and national levels assessed the performances to ensure a fair and rigorous competition.
Speaking at the event, the Principal Civic Education Officer at the NCCE Program Office, Madam Gloria Addisu Hasford, stressed the need for Ghanaians to uphold the country’s cultural values and promote unity among the various ethnic and tribal groups.
She linked the call to the spirit of the preamble to the 1992 Constitution, particularly the opening phrase, “We, the People of Ghana,” which she said underscores the collective identity and unity of the Ghanaian people.
Madam Hasford also used the occasion to educate the students on cybersecurity, urging them to be vigilant and responsible in their use of digital platforms.
The Western Regional Director of the Centre for National Culture, Mr. Kasim Mireku, encouraged the students to embrace and celebrate Ghanaian culture, noting that the nation's cultural heritage defines its uniqueness and contributes to the holistic development of young people.
At the end of the contest, Ahantaman Girls’ Senior High School emerged as overall winners, while Fijai Senior High School placed first runner-up and St. John’s Senior High School came second runner-up.
Ahantaman Girls’ Senior High School will now represent the Western Region at the national level of STUDRAFEST 2026.
