As part of the 2026 Citizenship Week Celebration, the Sunyani West Municipal Office of the Commission has empowered young learners at Ayakomaso Methodist School to appreciate their role in shaping a safer and more respectful digital environment.
Assistant Civic Education Officer Abdul Mumuni Suguru urged the students to see themselves not just as consumers of digital content but as active contributors to the online community. He emphasised that every post, comment, or forwarded message carries weight, with the potential to influence opinions, protect reputations, or spark conflict.
Beyond cautioning against cyberbullying, Mr. Suguru encouraged the pupils to become advocates for positive digital behaviour by reporting harmful acts, supporting peers, and using social media to promote unity and respect.
He reminded them that the Constitution safeguards their rights even in the digital space, adding that responsible citizenship extends to online engagements as well. He encouraged them to be responsible digital citizens and contribute to making the online space safer for everyone.
