Sawla-Tuna-Kalba NCCE Cautions Pupils on Safe Digital Practices

District Director at the office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, Issahaku Losina, has urged young Ghanaians to exercise caution in their online activities, reminding them that “the internet does not forget.” He emphasised that whatever is posted online today could remain accessible for years to come, with lasting consequences.

Mr. Losina delivered this message during the 2026 Citizenship Week Celebration engagements with students of Changbalayiri D/A School, Eagle Junior High School, and Sawla D/A School. The engagements were anchored on the sub-theme “Growing Up Digital: The Ghanaian Child Upholding the Constitution Online.”

Highlighting the growing usage of smartphones and computers among Ghanaian youth and the spike in their presence on social media platforms, Mr. Losina described the theme as timely and relevant.

He cautioned the students against sharing personal information such as phone numbers, passwords, locations, and especially inappropriate or nude photographs online. According to him, such actions not only expose children to risks but also undermine their safety and dignity.

He further advised that responsible digital behaviour is essential to demonstrating constitutional values in the digital age. By practising safe online habits, pupils can contribute positively to national development while safeguarding their own future.
