NCCE Weija-Gbawe Recognizes Schools for Environmental Stewardship and Promotes Constitutional Literacy

The Weija-Gbawe Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) presented Certificates of Appreciation to Weija Methodist 1 Junior High School and Weija M/A 2 Junior High School in recognition of their active participation in the 2025 World Environment Day celebration.

The certificates were awarded to acknowledge the schools' commitment to environmental awareness, sustainability, and community engagement. The recognition forms part of the Commission's efforts to encourage young people to take an active interest in environmental protection and responsible citizenship.

As part of the occasion, the NCCE also engaged members of the Civic Education Clubs in both schools on the Constitutional Game and its significance in promoting civic knowledge. The interactive session provided students with the opportunity to learn about the provisions of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana in an engaging and participatory manner.

Participants were taken through the rules of the game and how it can be used as a tool for understanding constitutional principles, citizens' rights and responsibilities, and democratic governance. Students actively participated in the discussions and demonstrated enthusiasm in learning about the Constitution.

The activity formed part of the Commission's broader mandate to deepen constitutional literacy, promote civic responsibility, and nurture informed, responsible, and active young citizens who can contribute positively to national development
