The North Gonja District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education observed the National Service Personnel Association election held at the Assemblies of God Church in Daboya on 22nd May 2026.
Held to elect new leaders for the 2025/2026 service year, the exercise brought together national service personnel from across the district. The observation formed part of the NCCE’s efforts to promote peaceful participation, democratic values, tolerance, and respect for electoral processes.
Voting was conducted in a peaceful, orderly, and transparent atmosphere. Service personnel participated actively, while contestants, supporters, and other participants conducted themselves with discipline and maturity throughout the process.
As part of the observation, Mr. Buhari Hafiz of the NCCE addressed the gathering on the importance of peaceful elections, tolerance, and respect for divergent opinions during and after the exercise. He encouraged participants to accept the outcome in good faith and continue working together in unity for the progress of the Association.
Mr. Hafiz further reminded the personnel that elections should strengthen unity rather than create division. He urged both winners and contestants to place the interest of the Association above personal differences and support initiatives that would promote the welfare of national service personnel in the district.
At the close of the exercise, contestants accepted the outcome in good faith and demonstrated a spirit of unity, mutual respect, and commitment to the collective interest of the Association. No major incident was recorded during the process.
Commending the organisers and participants for ensuring a peaceful and successful election, the NCCE encouraged the newly elected executives to lead with integrity, accountability, and commitment to the progress of the National Service Personnel Association in the North Gonja District.
