NCCE Kwaebibirem Marks Constitution Week with Focus on Responsible Digital Engagement

As part of activities marking the 2026 Constitution Week Celebration, the Kwaebibirem Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) participated in a live radio discussion on Fresh FM 92.5, Kade, on Wednesday, 13th May 2026.

The morning show program, hosted by Mr. Derick Prah, featured Mrs. Gertrude Adwoa Defoe, Municipal Director of the NCCE, and Ms. Hillary Ohene as guests.

The discussion focused on the 2026 Constitution Week theme: “Upholding Our Constitution in the Digital Age: Our Collective Responsibility.” The speakers explained that the 1992 Constitution of Ghana guides the conduct of citizens both offline and online and stressed the need for responsible behavior in the digital space.

Key issues discussed included misinformation and disinformation, cybersecurity threats, online bullying, impersonation, and invasion of privacy. The panelists educated listeners on the harmful effects of spreading false information and encouraged the public to verify information before sharing it on digital platforms.

Listeners were also urged to respect the rights of others online and use social media and other digital platforms responsibly and lawfully.

The discussion further highlighted the positive impact of the digital age, including easier access to information, improved communication, enhanced educational opportunities, business and entrepreneurship growth, job creation, and increased citizen participation in national development.

The program served as an important platform to educate the public on constitutional values and promote responsible digital citizenship as Ghana continues to adapt to the opportunities and challenges of the digital era.
