The Mamprusi Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in collaboration with the Mamprusi Municipal office of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), has engaged students of Gambaga Girls Senior High School (GAGISHS) in a civic education session aimed at deepening their understanding of the rule of law, ethical leadership, and the fight against corruption.
Speaking during the session, an officer from CHRAJ, Mr. Sule Soyer, encouraged the students to resist corruption and report corrupt practices to the appropriate authorities. He urged them to use lawful reporting channels, including the Police and designated Whistleblower Officers, whenever they encounter acts of corruption.
Mr. Abdulai Abdul-Mugis, the Mamprusi Municipal Director of the NCCE, also educated the students on conflict of interest and influence peddling. He explained that ethical conduct and respect for the rule of law are essential to building accountable institutions and responsible communities.
As part of the Directorate’s efforts to promote responsible citizenship among young people, the engagement encouraged students to uphold integrity in their schools, homes, and communities.
In furtherance of the anti-corruption message, the NCCE called on students, parents, teachers, and community members to reject corruption, promote integrity, and support efforts aimed at building a law-abiding and accountable society.
At the end of the session, the students expressed appreciation to the NCCE and CHRAJ for the engagement and pledged to share the knowledge acquired with their families, friends, and peers.
