NCCE and East Mamprusi Youth Hub Join Forces to Promote Gender Equality and Prevent GBV

The engagement, which sought to promote public awareness and encourage positive behavioural change, provided listeners with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of gender equality and the need to prevent all forms of gender-based violence within society.

During the discussion, participants highlighted the importance of challenging harmful gender stereotypes, discriminatory practices and social norms that contribute to inequality and GBV. The discussion further emphasized the need to promote mutual respect, equal opportunities and positive attitudes towards gender relations.

In addition, the engagement underscored the shared responsibility of men, boys, young people, families and communities in preventing GBV. Participants were encouraged to speak up against harmful behaviors, support survivors and contribute to creating safe and inclusive environments for all.

The collaboration between the NCCE North East Regional Office and the East Mamprusi Youth Hub demonstrates the organizations’ commitment to using civic engagement and public education to promote informed citizenship, strengthen social responsibility and inspire positive behavioral change.

The NCCE therefore calls on citizens to speak up, promote gender equality and take collective action to prevent gender-based violence and build safer communities.
