A group of sewing apprentices in Kwabeng Township were sensitised on the theme, “Upholding Our Constitution in a Digital Age: Our Collective Responsibility,” as part of the 2026 Constitution Week Celebration.
The engagement, held on Thursday, 7th May 2026, focused on cybersecurity and responsible digital behaviour for national development. The apprentices, mostly female, were educated on the importance of safe and ethical use of social media and digital platforms.
Addressing the apprentices, the Civic Education Officer, Esther Sarpomaa Appiah, explained that the Constitution guarantees citizens the rights to work, education, and equal opportunity, which also extend into the digital space. She encouraged the apprentices to leverage platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram to access sewing tutorials, showcase their work, and attract prospective clients.
She further advised them to avoid posting harmful or inappropriate content online, stressing the need to respect privacy, avoid false claims, and uphold integrity on digital platforms.
The NCCE District Director, Joseph O. Koranteng, noted that the Constitution places a collective responsibility on citizens to promote safety and dignity online. He urged the apprentices to report scams, resist cyberbullying, and support one another against internet fraud.
The apprentices expressed appreciation to the NCCE for the engagement and appealed for more educational visits on their rights and responsibilities.
