The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) is building the capacity of 300 staff in the areas of civic education, public accountability, rule of law and environmental governance under the Accountability, Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Programme (ARAP). The training covers all 260 District Directors, 16 Programmes Officers from all Regions and 24 Key Staff from the Head Office.
During the opening ceremony for the first group of participants at the Radach Lodge and Conference Centre for Officers from the Upper East, Upper West, Northern, North East and Savannah Regions of Ghana, Ms. Josephine Nkrumah, Chairman of the Commission acknowledged the support of the European Union for the training. She stated that the training is aimed at building the capacity of staff to enable the Commission to effectively deliver on its mandate especially towards the 2020 General Election. The Chairman admonished participants to grasp the key concepts and lessons so that they are able to impart the knowledge and skills to their colleagues in the office.
The opening ceremony was attended by Alhaji Abdul-Razak Saani, the NCCE Regional Director of the Northern Region, Mr. Johnson Opoku, NCCE Director of Programmes, Mr. Kojo Tito Voegborlo, Commission Secretary, Mr. Patrick Asare-Nelson, Project Manager for EU/NCCE Project, and other officials of the Commission.
The training will take place in batches for the Northern, Middle and Southern Sector of participants from Sunday 12th – Friday 31st January, 2020.
