NCCE TAKES ITS CIVIC AND PUBLIC EDUCATION ON DLEs TO CANOEISTS AND MOTORISTS

The Yendi Municipal Directorate on the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has taken its civic and public sensitization on the upcoming District Level Elections (DLEs) to motorist, canoeist, and women groups in the Jagando, Kpalsonado, Pansiya, and Frimangdo communities.

The Yendi Municipal Director of the NCCE, Mr. Osman Kassim emphasized that these engagements sought to raise awareness among community members about the DLEs and why they need to exercise their franchise to participate in the local decision-making process.

In addition, Mr. Kassim took them through the roles of assembly and unit committee members outlining their duties as the major facilitators of developments in our communities. He entreated the women in the various communities to be actively involved and take part in the DLEs.

The Assistant Civic Education Officer (ACEO); Mr. Yakubu M. Baba noted that women’s involvement in politics will help them to participate in the decision-making process at the district level.
