NCCE, SENSITISE CHIEFS IN SENE WEST ON COVID-19 VACCINE

The NCCE has reiterated the safeness of the COVID-19 Vaccines and encouraged the citizenry to fully participate in it when it comes to their turn to be immunized.

The NCCE Sene West Director, Mr. Cletus Suuk, who engaged Nana Dr. Nabi Santo II, Paramount Chief of Dwan Traditional Area, and his sub-Chiefs at Akenten during a mini durbar, explained the need for the Chief and his subjects to take the COVID-19 Vaccine when their time is due.

The meeting was intended to draw the attention of the Paramount Chiefs and ask for their involvement in the process which will otherwise face some challenges during the vaccination period.

Mr. Suuk clarified what the vaccines were and why the country selected the AstraZeneca and Sputnik V vaccines among the lot. The development of the vaccines, he explained met the safety measure of the drug development process, adding that the FDA in Ghana has certified and approved their safety and efficacy prior to their introduction in the country.

He equally urged them to disregard all the conspiracies against the COVID- 19 Vaccines and urged them to avail themselves when it gets to their turn to vaccinate.

While explaining the roll-out plan of the vaccination exercise, Mr. Suuk observed the need for the Chiefs to rally their subjects to embrace and take part in the exercise.

Also at the meeting was the Sene West District Hospital Health Promotion Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Tekpe, who appealed to Ghanaians to continue to observe the safety measures prescribed by the Ghana Health Service (GHS), including the wearing the facemask, regular handwashing with soap under running water and social distancing.

He equally urged the public to eat a well-balanced diet to boost their immune system.
