The Bono East Regional Office of the NCCE has interacted with personnel of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority as part of the 2023 Annual Constitution Week Celebration on the theme, “Thirty Years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy: Building National Cohesion through Civic Education and Participation in Local Governance.
Addressing the Officers, the Regional Director, Joseph Kwaku Yeboah elaborated on the theme and thanked the officers for their involvement in helping to sustain Ghana’s democracy. He urged them to allow for peaceful co-existence in communities and must contribute their quota to national growth and development. The Regional Director also highlighted some achievements of the NCCE during the 30 years period.
Mr. Yeboah spoke on the Preventing and Containing Violent Extremism project funded by the EU. He prompted them on possible extremist threats to Ghana and the need for us all to be vigilant, especially with issues of the importation of arms. He encouraged the citizenry to participate in the upcoming District Level Election and urged for a much greater voter turnout than in previous years.
A similar engagement was carried out with the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) at the Bono East Regional Command, Techiman.
