MS. JOSEPHINE NKRUMAH , CHAIRMAN
Ms. Nkrumah holds a BA (Law & French) from the University of Ghana, Legon. She was admitted to the Ghana Bar in February 1997. In 2001, she obtained a Master of Law (LLM) Degree from the IMO International Maritime Law Institute, Malta, specializing in Maritime Law. Ms. Josephine founded and managed her Law Firm, Lumens Veritals Law before joining the NCCE in 2016 as the Deputy Chairman in charge of Finance and Administration. In 2016, she was appointed the Chairman of NCCE. She sits on the Ministry of Transport’s Advisory Board and serves on a number of boards of private companies.
MR.SAMUEL AKUAMOAH DEPUTY CHAIRMAN,OPERATIONS
Mr. Samuel Asare Akuamoah holds a Master’s Degree in African Studies from the University of Ghana, Legon and a BA in Political Science from the same University. He holds a Diploma in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism, GIJ and a Certificate in Project Management and Strategic Leadership from Ghana Training Consulting, GTC, and Putney Bridge London, United kingdom. Prior to joining the NCCE in 1994, Mr Akuamoah worked as a Freelance Journalist with a number of media houses including the Ghana News Agency, GNA. He was one of the pioneer staff of the NCCE at the Accra Metropolitan Office of the Commission. He was later transferred to the National Headquarters where he rose through the ranks to become the Director of Programmes. He is currently the Deputy Chairman in charge of Operations.
MS.KATHLEEN ADDY, DEPUTY CHAIRMAN ,FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION
Deputy Chairman, Finance and Administration Kathleen Addy is a Communications and Development professional with over 15 years’ experience working in the development sector. Her professional reach covers a wide range of specialisations including Strategic Communications; Corporate Communications; Communications for Research and Policy and Corporate Social Responsibility. She honed her skills over the years working in different organisations including the center for policy Analysis (CEPA) as well as Center for Democratic Development (CDD), where she was the Afrobarometer Communications Manager with oversight of seven African countries in East and West Africa. As a renowned activist, Ms. Addy has championed many causes that promote democracy and good governance and human rights and is particularly passionate about women rights. She has a degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana, Legon.
MR. KOJO TITO VOEGBORLO ,COMMISSION SECRETARY
Mr. Voegborlo holds a BA Degree in Law and Political Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana. He was called to the Ghanaian Bar in October 1989. In 1991 he served as a Research Assistant to the Committee of Experts that drafted the 1992 (Fourth) Republican Constitution. He joined the NCCE in July 1993 as Deputy Director for Research and in May 2006 became the Commission Secretary.
DR. HENRIETTA ASANTE – SARPONG, DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH
Henrietta is a Research Scientist and a Program Management professional with more than a decade’s experience in research design and execution as well as program design and implementation. She has independently and in partnership with both local and international research institutions carried out large and smaller-scaled researches with some of her works published in international journals. Her researches have primarily focused on the impact of social protection initiatives, accountable governance and health systems strengthening.She has also managed a number of donor-funded programs particularly on health and governance. Henrietta holds a doctorate degree in Development Studies from the University of Ghana and two master’s degrees in Development Studies and Population Studies from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the University of Ghana respectively. Prior to her appointment as the Director for Research, Gender and Equality at the NCCE, she was the Research Manager at the Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights, a women, children and adolescents health advocacy group.
MR.MICHAEL DADZIE , DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
Mr. Dadzie holds an intermediate certificate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICA) Ghana. In addition, he has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Cape Coast. He also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from GIMPA. He joined the Commission in 1994 as Assistant Accountant and has risen through the ranks to become Director of Finance.
MRS.JOYCE BENEDICTA AFUTU, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATION AND CORPORATE AFFAIRS
Mrs. Afutu graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, in 1993 with a BA Degree in Book Industry. She obtained a Master’s Degree MBA, Human Resource option from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in 2013. She joined the Commission in 1994. Prior to her appointment as Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs in 2013, she served in many capacities as Assistant Research Officer, Civic Education Officer in Sunyani and District Director for Tano South of Brong Ahafo Region as well as the office Accra Metropolitan from 2005 to 2008. She became the Director of the Greater Accra Region in 2008.
MRS.DORA HAMMOND, DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION
Mrs. Hammond holds Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management and Sociology from the University of Ghana in 1994. In 2008 she obtained Masters Degree in Development Management from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. She joined the Commission in February 1998 as an Assistant Research Officer and rose through the ranks to become the Deputy Director of Programes in 2012. Mrs. Hammond served in the Asuogyaman, Ga west and Ashaiman NCCE District offices. She was appointed as Director of Administration.
MR JOHNSON OPOKU, DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMME
Mr. Opoku graduated from University of Science and Technology, Kumasi in 1989 with a BA Degree in Sociology and History. He also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from GIMPA. He joined the Commission in 1996 as Regional Research Officer in the Ashanti Region. Until his appointment as Director of Programmes, he served in various positions and capacities as District Director for Sekyere East and Ejisu Juaben in Ashanti, Deputy Greater Accra Regional Director and Deputy Director Programmes.
