NCCE REGIONAL DIRECTOR CAUTIONS CHILDREN ON THEIR FUTURE

The Ashanti Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Mr. Wilson Raphael Arthur, admonished Ghanaian children to think of what they want to be in the future and prepare themselves to achieve this objective.

Mr. Arthur made this remark at a Child Mock Parliament organised by the Sekyere East District Directorate of the NCCE and World Vision Ghana. The Regional Director also advised the children to eschew all negative tendencies which could negatively impact their future because what they do will reflect what the future will be.

The Sekyere East District Co-ordinating Director, Mr. Anthony Amoako commended Word Vision Ghana for its exemplary role in national development while the District Director of Education, Mr. David Oppong said such extracurricular activities give the children exposure to help them to grow into useful and responsible citizens.

The Acting District Manager of World Vision Ghana, Mr Ezekial Appiah said the activity was to enable children to know and demand their rights and identify issues in their communities and how to solve them. Issues discussed at the mock parliament include sexual abuse, drug abuse, menstrual hygiene, child labour, child trafficking, girl – child empowerment and teenage pregnancy.
