NCCE EDUCATES THE PUBLIC ON CONSTITUTION DAY

The Ashanti Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education, NCCE, Mr. Wilson Raphael Arthur, has sensitized Ghanaians on the importance of Constitution Day. Speaking live on Spiritus TV, Boss FM and GBC radio/TV discussion programme in Kumasi, Mr. Arthur explained that the 1992 Republican Constitution gives the people all their rights and freedoms and expects citizens to perform their duties and responsibilities.

He stated that the Constitution came into force on 7th January, 1993 and it was meant for the nation to celebrate the day to let Ghanaians know that they have a Constitution which seeks to make them live in dignity as ‘true human beings’.

On the relationship between 7th January and 28th April observations, he said 7th January buttresses activities for the celebration of Constitution Week on 28th April in the Commission’s effort to draw the attention of the public on the existence and provisions of the Constitution.
