GET INVOLVED IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION-NCCE TELLS CHURCHES

The Ablekuma North Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has educated Darkuman Presbyterian Church on corruption and its demoralizing effect on citizens and development. The Ablekuma North Municipal Director, Richmond Okoaben-Mensah spoke about the whistleblower's Act 720 describing the Act as one of the ways to curb corruption in our communities and workplaces. The Act, he said, makes it possible to report corrupt individuals acts of corruption within an organization to the appropriate authorities.

Mr. Okoaben said government institutions and agencies such as Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Economic and Organized Crime Office

(EOCO), Ghana Police service and Legal Aid are all stakeholders in the Anti-Corruption Rule of Law and Accountability Programme (ARAP) programme assisting in the fight against corruption. ARAP is a European Union (EU) and Government of Ghana (GOG) initiative that incorporates National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP) in its design.

Mr. Mensah urged members of the church to be actively involved in the fight against corruption. He noted that the more we exposed corrupt acts and individuals in our communities and workplaces, the more we help reduce the canker to the barest minimum.
