MINISTER URGES YOUTH TO TAKE PRIDE OF THEIR DIVERSITY AND RISE ABOVE ETHNIC OR SECTIONAL INTEREST

The Upper East Region celebrated the Ghana at 60 Anniversary at Ramse Park in the Bolgatanga Municipality on 6th March, 2017.The Upper East Regional Minister Hon. Rockson Ayine Bukari urged the youth to take pride of their diversity and rise above ethnicity and sectional interest. A total of 50 selected schools and the security agencies and other organizations took part in the celebration through match in the Ramse Park before the Minister’s speech.

Delivering his address at the 60th Anniversary ceremony, the Regional Minister acknowledged and paid homage to the past leaders who fought for our independence. He thanked the children and teachers for their excellent march and the cultural troupes on their magnificent display as well as the security agencies.Hon. Rockson Ayine Bukari took participants through the history of Ghana’s independence on 6th march 1957 led by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Hon. Rockson Bukari called on Ghanaians to take pride in their diversity and rise above the ethnic or sectional interest. He added that “we have a bright future and we must mobilize all our resources and all our strengths to get to the Promised Land faster.”

The Regional Minister paid homage to the “BIG SIX” on our Ghanaian currency: Joseph Boakye Danquah; Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey; William Ofori-Atta; Ebenezer Ako-Adjei; Edward Akufo-Addo and Kwame Nkrumah.  He also paid homage to other equally important Ghanaians that we should not forget; George Paa Grant, R.S. Blay, Cobinna Kesse, J.W. de Graft Johnson and Francis Awoonor Williams, amongst others.

He commended the officers and the men and women of the Ghana Armed forces, the police service and the other security services for their display of order, pomp and ceremony and thanked all for their willingness to put their lives on the line to secure our domestic peace and tranquility and the sanctity of our property.Below are pictures of cultural troops and others at the Ramse Park on 6th March, 2017 in Bolgatanga
